This is nothing compared to lots of stuff. Man up! And that stupid alarm thing? WTF?

He could have given you a little more room IMO if he didn't want to hang back I must admit.

You might be apathetic to it but if a lorry comes that close, it could kill you. That is a pretty big problem to me.

Are you suggesting we should just bend over and take this sort of thing? Doesn't sound like 'manning up' to me. Sounds a bit like a pussy without the balls to stand up for himself.

No no you're right. I expect many complaints go on daily & nothing gets done about it. It's time they did something. Some poor bloke was dragged under a lorry a few year back here.

It's like any sort of inequality... it'll be a struggle, but it is achievable. Just like it isn't acceptable to only serve white people at a restaurant, or to point and laugh at the disabled in the street. For both of those groups, I think the discrimination was mostly down to ignorance.

It's obviously not an identical situation - we do choose to be cyclists, after all - but there are some parallels that we can draw, and I'd hope it could be a similar sort of deal for cyclists. Letting people know how dangerous this sort of thing is and the consequences it could have if it goes wrong might give people a better sense of empathy for cyclists, so that they don't drive like idiots around them.

There will always be some bad apples - perhaps the car's equivalent of UKIP members or EDL supporters - but I'd like to believe that we can at least get the majority on our side. If more people cycle - and judging from the stats, they will - more people will understand cyclists, and those in cars will be more likely to have cyclist friends, too, which I'd hope would make them more considerate of cyclists.

Yeah, that's why I said think about how it takes a roundabout. then you can look at this one and apply it.

That is the line the driver would take around the roundabout, otherwise they have to slow down and take the rest of the roundabout at a much tighter angle for the trailer.

No it's not necessary for a roundabout of this size and a lorry of this size and certainly strange with another road user which he was aware of in the left hand lane.

Some crappy police affiliate scheme that aims to report stuff to the police. Not run by the police and has past been slandered by the Police for making out that they worked closely with them (which was not true).

Yes, add the other road user into the equation and this is a stupid manoeuvre and positioning, but for such a size vehicle I believe this is a perfectly normal way to take a roundabout of this nature.
