Disk brakes and squeaking/whining type sound

Hi Guys

Never had disk brakes before but my new bike has them. The whining noise happens intermittently from the front wheel and sounds like the disk is rubbing against something as the wheel spins.

Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this??

the disc will be rubbing against the pad.

check that the disc is not warped - unlikley on a new bike; also check that the pads are centred about the disc. there will be either shims i.e. very thin washers or a bolt in a slotted hole (IS mount) to adjust this.
