I think outdoor tracks vary much more.

It shouldn't be different to any fixed-wheel. Come to a halt, unclip and foot down—all in one easy movement.

Herne Hill doesn't

Indoor tracks will have an inside rail - outdoor tracks probably won't.

Yes I went back and looked at the pics I took at the York track a couple of weekends ago and sure enough, there's no rail.

Meadowbank doesn`t have a rail.
