It's finding out who should be doing the work & nagging them until it gets done.
If you have to nag them from inside this listless corporate entity, can you imagine what it's like to get through "customer services" as a member of the public to get them to do something useful? You should try it sometime if you have a few months to spare.

Do you know how old the line that goes into your house is? I had a problem with my line. I did all the recommended checks with the master box but couldn't get it to work. An Openreach engineer came out and looked at the box and saw that I had an extension plugged in. He didn't look at anything else and just said that was the reason and left. He didn't even check if the problem existed with a phone plugged directly into the master box socket (I had already tried that and it didn't). I then had a phone line that still wasn't working and I got a bill for the engineers 'visit'. It took numerous phone calls via Bombay to get another engineer to come out and check the line from the junction box on the eaves of the house to the master box. When this eventually happened it was found that the cable was badly corroded. Once it was replaced the phone worked fine. I then had a battle with BT trying to prevent them taking the charge for the first engineers visit out of my bank account. I'm not proud of this but I managed in the end by bursting into tears and sobbing uncontrollably. BT are crap.

Been there, done that, in a number of companies. It was when you used to ring the number you knew was right & were told to ring a different number, which was never answered. When push button phones came in they saved a lot of sore fingers.

And I've done the job of 'finance' when they failed to ensure payment to a company I needed some kit from. Sometimes knowing how companies work and asking the right questions can move that mountain.

They're all crap. I think that used car salesmen went into double glazing, moved into banking, and ended up, like a nasty smear on your lavatory pan, peddling sh#t for ISPs and telecoms corporates.

W#ankers :okay:

Am I dead, in a coma, or have I really gone back in time to 1973?
Think of Openreach as the Railtrack of the communication industry, just like Railtrack provide all the physical lines between the stations Openreach provide all the wires between the houses/telephones & we all know how good Railtrack are at their job, sorry 13 but as CP I have to work with Openreach & you're not easy.
