Actually 3mm inner diameter may be a bit big. Best pre-fill it with kneaded Babybel cheese rind to ensure a good fit.

Fantastic find! My SKS Chromoplastic stays are 3.4 mm diameter so those would be ideal. Thanks.

I found some very thin plastic tubing in B&Q or similar and cut some very short lengths to slip onto the stay ends (a drop of water - spit actually - worked as a lube to slide them on) - the upside over glue gun which I considered is that they can be taken off. Heat shrink tubing would work BUT doesn't give a lot of protection to stop you scratching your leg or whatever which is presumably the purpose of the caps.
