Chain - really depends how often you ride and in what sort of conditions...bit of a how long is a piece of string.

Up North, we use a bit of string, not a piece...a piece is a bit, but shorter and fatter, whereas a bit is long and stringy, and more suited to the environment...

Guess it depends how far north. A bit of band here, no such thing as string.
