Do I call the police?

If the OP recognised the girl, which it seems he did, and wants nothing more than us to have a word with her, then that's all that will happen, it won't go near CPS

Never knew this would draw so much attention.

I hope that the CPS do not get involved really as it was not designed to harm and was a prank.

Yes it could have resulted in serious harm but didn't

I do hope they manage to get the passenger and give her a 'talking' to - I think it turns out that I don't know her as nothing has been mentioned at work today (I hope).

Police in later - will up date you later.

Thanks for all the support though folks

thanks

I shudder to think how close a car would have to pass me to slap my arse! Would there not be handlebar/wingmirror overlap? Seriously, not funny regardless of it being a prank and no 'harm' done!

Are you really comparing what happened to the OP with that? My God. The SOR is precisely for people like him. Not young idiots doing daft stuff in cars.

I find it ironic that you admit to wearing a t-shirt with 'Bus self-gratification artists' on it - which comes from a clip which shows exactly this sort of behaviour - young lads / girls going round in cars trying to cause mischief and offence.

You are missing my point. I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, because he did.

My point was is that somebody said that she should be left alone because it was a teenager doing something stupid. The lad I know was exactly the same and yet look at him. I'm not comparing the crime, i'm comparing the similarities between the 2 people and why one apparently should be let off for a sexualised crime (which it is, just not as serious) while one was not.

The t-shirt was a gag gift. The TV show shows people shouting at people at a bus stop (not slapping people on a bike) nor does it condone anything sexual in public. It's a tv show - you can't compare it to real life.

I never said she should be left alone. Just because I don't take the ludicrously extreme viewpoint that she needs to be placed on the SOR, doesn't mean I don't think she should get away with it.

This happened to me during the summer - two men drove alongside me as I was slowing down for some lights at the M60 junction on Broadway in Chadderton, which is a horrible junction to cycle through anyway. I got quite a hard slap and really wobbled but managed to keep it together.
They didn't reckon on me catching up with them at the next lights - I leaned in the window and said witheringly to the passenger who slapped me "you must have a really really tiny c**k." and cycled on. The guy driving stalled the car because he was laughing so hard at the passenger.

At the time I just wanted him to feel as small and silly as he'd made me feel, and I think I did that. But, on reflection, I wish I'd gone to the police and reported it - only I was so shocked I didn't even think of looking at the reg plate. I've had it happen twice in bars, and have complained to the staff and got the protagonists thrown out. There is no excuse for a complete stranger sneaking up (which essentially they did all three times) and touching you when you don't want to be touched - whether you're on a bike or not, and whether you're male or female. If it's unwanted, then it's assault in my view.

What she did was stupid and dangerous. A word from plod might deter them from doing it again. However, anyone suggesting that the girl should be put on the SOR wants to have a word with themselves. Would you really want a young girls life ruined over this? Glad you're ok anyway, OP.

Thanks Hip for your concenrs - I am fine...the more I think about it though the worse it gets!

Ok folks here is where it is at.
Spoken to PC plod earlier today....taking it very seriously and are looking to arrest the girl if they manage to get her.
Got the drivers details etc, so the car exists.

If she has a record then they will take it much further, if not then probably a warning.

Probably the correct level of call from them.

Rode in and out today along the same route - I have no real alternative.
felt a little more vulnerable.
Was looking around much more
Was taking some more primary positions (probably more than I should) but do not wish to totally hack off the unclean.

Home safe and sound.

I understand all the SOR - this was even mentioned by PC plod.

Appreciate all the caffuffle I have caused here...some interesting opinions though.

Now having a nice cold un.

Happened to me in Gorton mcr this summer - driver was on a moped - didn't think that I'd get anywhere reporting it as was helmet camera less

But it left me shaken due to the force/shock and how close he needed to get to me

He was on a 49cc bike with l-plates so assume it was a yoof !

Interesting. I think, like someone above said, it should be enough to wave the threat of the register at her, if she is only a silly little girl, that should bring her up sharpish.

I hope they can identify her. From what I've heard, if the driver won't id her, there's not much they can do...

Enjoy your cold one....
