The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Unless someone out there has some quinoa I think I must have this one in the bag...

I hope that's drizzled with extra virgin olive oil - extra points for estate bottled, (or as we used to get, home grown). Best too if Italian plum tomatoes still warm from the vine and freshly picked and torn basil ........ and I'd swap the pork pie for a porchetta panino. Almost forgot - sea salt too.

A restaurant near work with ideas above it's station advertised:

Hand crusted pie of pork, served on a bed of crushed petit pois with a mint jus...

Needless to say, they've since closed down

Smoked Puffin with horseradish cream, toasted Icelandic bread and salad. Surely extra points for the slate.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

But only if you subtract them again for the iceberg lettuce. There is never an excuse for that.

I like iceburg lettuce. I know it's the done thing to be snotty about it, but I like the crunch. It's also very practical - in the fridge it will last for three or four months.

You can like it all want, but it does not belong on a slate and it does not belong in a thread about poncy food. Baby spinach at a very minimum.

In my fridge it will last until it becomes a liquid
