Do I need to tighten this some how?

Im getting a lot of creaking a clicking noises coming from down by the crank. It only comes when you put pressure on it like when your climbing or pushing a big gear.

I have tried an allen key in the center (see link) with my 'big ratch' on the end of it and it seems pretty tight. I didnt want to push too hard though encase anything broke.

What do you guys think?

Don't just keep tightening stuff though. Strip, clean and re-grease as you go.

If the noise(s) prevail have a look HERE for more ideas

[EDIT] Just actually looked at the pics and it looks like a BB30 set up to me. In that case definitely strip, clean and re-grease. BB30 is notorious for creaks.

Both the pedals and the wheel needed nicking up a bit.

Done them and the noise is gone :-)

Smokeysmoo - the bikes only done about 800mile. How often should I be stripping this down and re-greasing?

if you are carbon....carbon creaks!
Mine does
I think it might be the seat pillar or the headset or the cable housings when I go over a bump
Who knows?
When it falls apart I will know!

Cod liver oil for your jonts as well, your legs can creak too !!
