Temporary sign where roadworks make it too narrow to allow a safe pass.
As above they are quite common in London. As are ”cyclists dismount” signs.

There's a two mile stretch of road that has a number of these on either side.

Rumours are circulating that the they will become permanent, when work is finished.

Roads where drivers CAN overtake seem to cause a pile of trouble; perhaps we should give this way a try?

Quite recent addition. Hasn't caused any trouble in my experience - if I choose to hug the gutter while climbing, most drivers will overtake carefully.

Looks like a downhill stretch. If it is a 30 mph or even a 20 then wouldn't be particularly inconvenient even slower riders will be at 20+ mph, albeit some idiot car drivers will insist upon pushing past.
Coming down Snake Pass or the Cat and Fiddle you are quite often travelling faster than the traffic the limit there is 50mph, but you can't go around the tight curves in a car. It is just a question of being tolerant and having a bit of empathy.

It gets flatter just after the left hand corner, at the bottom of that slope. A newly laid road is visible on the right, near the bottom of the hill.

Besides traffic lights slow things down enough.

Chances are I'd be on the pavement (especially if a regular, known route) - almost certainly if towing the trailer - leave the carriageway clear for the tin box brigade.

Similarly sometimes as a Cyclist, it's sensible to cycle the other side of the cones if there is a road surface.
