Do US DVDs work in UK DVD players?

My daughter wants a DVD which apparently you can't get over here.

Do you think it will work OK on a UK DVD player. The one I've got is a Panasonic DVD-RV62, if anyone knows it.

It will work if you get the hacking code for your machine. Google is your friend.

More bad news...

Q. Can I hack my DVD player with my remote handset? Yes with some DVD players it is possible to hack the player so as it becomes a region zero or another region. Usually the cheaper DVD makes allow this hack but the bigger companies such as Panasonic or Sony don't allow this.

Google is not my friend any more!

I was just about to post that link!

I've hacked mine (a Philips) using a code from videohelp.com. It was a while ago, but I think it was just a case of going to the main menu and entering a number sequence.

I've found a code for the Panasonic DVD-RV60 - there's a chance it will work if they run the same firmware:

1. Remove DVD/CD from your drive.
2. Press the following keys on your remote:
[ACTION] [1] [>=10] [6] [4] [3] [8]

3. A new menu option will appear named Other followed by four stars. Use one of the following codes to:
3192 -> Multi-Region Enable
3193 -> Macrovision Disable

If you locked your player by pressing [4] instead of [1] after pressing [ACTION], this will also unlock your player.

Surely that would be the 'enter' or 'select' button.
