I thought about the original question as I noticed my hands moving away from covering the brakes. So I obviously do cover them when I feel it needs it then relax back to not covering them without thinking about it consciously. As for how much time I've no idea, my hands seem happy to move between the two positions with very little input from me.:whistle:
