I don't believe I have.
Left over special fried rice was always fairly satisfying as I recall.
I quite often have chocolate though - that's continental right?!

Soup, for brekkie?! What is this witchcraft, Uncle Mort
I went through a stage of having Cup-a-Soups for a snack and have had them mid morning but never for breakfast. I just don't think it would set me up for the day. Probably no reason not to, other than my greed, I suppose.

Edit: just to make it clear that I am not consuming them during the summer. Good winter snack though!

Nothing wrong with soup for breakfast.

I have spicy carrot and lentil soup or spinach and lentil dhal for breakfast during term time and will often have them for lunch too on the same day.

Miso soup is nice for breakfast, and I eat dhal for breakfast now and again. Minestrone isn't an obvious breakfast choice, as it's a bit early to start piling in the parmesan, but if it's sitting on the stove top looking inviting then it's up for grabs, I reckon.

I had soup for breakfast quite a lot when travelling in SE Asia, but I can't say I ever took to it. On the other hand, it certainly beats their idea of a Western breakfast.

No I got the idea from being lazy about getting the shopping in! I usually have porridge - but the soup was pretty good!
Not just me then: Lazy shopping I mean, not soup for breakfast.

That's OK, so long as breakfast is after 12, as it was for me today but Miso dishwater is not soup.

I'm up for it and have loved the idea ever since first having soup for brekkie 23 years ago in Thailand and had it daily when there again a few weeks ago. I like saltiness rather than too much sweet for brekkie and Ministrone would hit the spot nicely!

I'm suddenly aware that I don't know of any Indian soups... There's Mulligatawny, but that's just a slightly curry flavoured British/Raj concoction isn't it?

Soup just isn't a food I associate with Indian food, but then maybe I haven't been to enough Indian restaurants, or looked closely enough at the starter menu....

I had a bowl of minestrone for breakfast today. It was great, but as far as I can remember it's the first time I've ever had soup at that time of day. People in Asia do it, so why don't we? It's easy to eat, comforting, and not too filling - the ideal breakfast food!
There should be prisons for people with such disGUSTing habits as that!
