Do You Move To Prime Position In The Rain?

Hi all,

So the rain is on and it is collecting in the road where vehicle tyres create a dip. If you cycle in it, it is harder and obviously slows you down.

Close to the verge there is a stream or debris, so you keep out of it of course.

Do you then ride in prime position where the road is generally raised and dryer to make your journey easier?

Regards

Chris

I avoid the puddles but check well before pulling out and NEVER ride the gutter anyway as the debris is worse in the wet.

I understand your issue Chris, it takes a while for your brain to get used to getting into the scary bit of the road and forcing drivers (most anyway) to go around you, albeit a tad too Close or fast or both ad you are an annoyance to most, but feck 'em.

I find myself holding a stronger position on the road in the rain, especially when dark. Not so much due to water on the road, as I seem to get soaked anywhere, but just to control the lane and increase visibility a bit.

Here for rides.
So, in wet OR dry ride secondary as a minimum and Primary when necessary or your safety.
Indeed if necessary ride down the white line in the middle of the road.

More or less what I have to do at the points on my commute after heavy rain. there's holes in them tha' puddles.
