Cycling is my own space. And Mrs Ian likes it that way as she knows when I am out on the bike I wont be getting in any trouble like I would be when I am at football... ie getting blind drunk

Mrs Ian is a runner and she can't bear the thought of me going running with her. Not that I would want to run anywhere of course.

My other half wants to do a charity cycle with me but i doubt it will ever happen seeing as she doesnt own a bike and has no real intention of ever owning one

Cycling is mostly my thing, but we have done the odd ride and tour together.
I just need to keep her off my Brommie really...

I am super lucky having a partner that loves cycling and the bonus is we ride at the same pace. The icing on the cake is she also loves riding fixed.
As an aside, the best way to get your lady cycling is to be convinced by another lady, there is a popular misconception among potential female cyclists that us blokes are prone to some minor exaggerations when discussing our capabilities on a bike

. inexplicably wrong of course. It seems the fairer sex would rather be convinced of the merits of riding a bike by one of there own, sad but true.

We cycle together at weekends, separately to work and because Mr Carolonabike is a triafferleet, he cycles alone too. We never run together, he is far too fast and I am far to slow ^_^

Mrs G refuses to cycle unless it's warm and sunny which is a shame as I enjoy our occasional trips. It can get a bit annoying at this time of year when we have to drive even a couple of miles to friends or to the pub rather than cycle - especially if it's my turn to drive home rather the preferred 'refreshed' wobble back!

Mrs A_T has started riding with me on Saturday mornings and is up to 15 miles with some decent 'slopes', gearing up for the Cyclone next June.

[Mrs A_T doesn't do hills].

Absolutely with Susie.

It doesn't have to be just the two of us. We're very happy to team up with User10571, TC, and others, and we enjoy group rides like the 'Old Crocks' ride and the FNRttC, but if she's not there, there's something missing.

I've a lot of cycling highlights racked up over the last (ahem) 40 years, but I'd put our day and a half escapade to Southwold at the top of the list. Cycling side-by-side across Mersea I realised that this is as good as life gets.

I don't cycle as much as I would like to but in my ideal world, I would spend a whole day every weekend cycling, and probably do another two or three 2-4 hour rides most weeks. I'd try and have three or four 2-week cycling holidays abroad a year plus a lot of shorter cycling trips to places like Wales, the Lake District and Scotland.

I don't have a partner, but if I did have one and my cycling life was something like the one I described above, we would be spending an awful lot of time apart if she wasn't also a keen cyclist! I'm sure she would resent the amount of time I spent cycling, planning rides and holidays, and even here on CycleChat, and I would resent that resentment; I don't think it would work out!

I love to tour with the old dear but she's too slow to join me with my friends on our weekend rides. The difficulty for her is finding women (or indeed men) of a similar standard and mindset. She does run with others though.

I don't have a partner, but it would be cool if she was a cyclist as well...yes because there is nothing quite like a hot lady in lycra ..but mostly because of the companionship...and because she would be there to fix my punctures.
