That would be low even for a reasonably sedentary female!

1200kcal/day is starvation rations.

I've never been so inactive in my entire life as I am now, and I'm currently eating 2500kcal/day. When I was cycling it was nearer 3500, and 4500 whilst on tour. On a day with a >100 mile ride I'd be eating 6-7000kcals.

Good grief. That's around 2400 calories without anything spread on the toast or crackers!! My daily target is 1200. Is this usual for you? Hardly a useful calories in that list. I feel a whole lot better about my failure to resist a G&T and packet of crisps yesterday evening.

1500 calories is a diet for an adult male. Peanut butter is a great source of protein so useful calories.

So today I have eaten.
3 slices of toast, one with butter, one with butter and peanut butter, one with marmite and butter.
10 ryevite crackers with butter 2 of which had cream cheese with garlic and herbs.
2 spoonfuls of peanut butter.
Crisps
A pizza with cheese and olives
2 magnum ice lollies
Red wine.
and it’s still only early doors.

Pah, you're a beginner! When I was at school, a typical day would be breakfast of a big bowl of muesli and coffee, early school lunch with pudding at noon, afternoon pack of biscuits to stave off hunger pangs, then the evening would be more or less continuous eating of cooked dinner, probably with pudding, buttered toast, and probably more muesli, as I can't sleep if I'm hungry.

Since I had an iliac aneurysm diagnosed earlier in the year, it appears to explain why my ability to shift a decent volume of grub has diminished.
The aneurysm is pressing on my abdomen which according to the surgeon explains my 'early saety'.
However, what will be interesting is whether my ability to shift more grub will increase after the op, or will my stomach have got used to the lesser volumes and not be happy with more.
At 72, even though I'm still active, eating less is not a bad thing, so it remains to be seen - ! ^_^
