Apologies if this has been posted already.

I find myself wishing I had a longer commute, as it's only 3.5 miles each way.
(probably won't be thinking the same in the depths of winter)

Does anyone have a short commute, but makes it longer on purpose?

My normal daily door to door commute is 12 miles each way. But always stretch it to 16 miles or more each way

I used to do 15...new office is 13.5. At times it would be nice to have a shorter commute and just be able to add a few loops. Only do it twice a week so it's not that big a deal though.

I know when I only had to do a couple of miles for my UNI job I complained it was too short though

I live 400 metres from the office so most days I walk but have gone home via Gosforth and have even been via Consett or Morpeth on a quiet Friday!

...hmmm, it's nice and sunny today...

I wish I had the option of a longer commute. My 3.6 miles isn't the shortest possible but is the path of least resistance. If I go further it's just queueing at traffic lights and/or taking a really traffic-heavy routes.

You could always get up early and do a ride before starting the commute.

Current commute is 7 miles each way. Though it's looking very likely that an office relocation will make that ~ 2.5 miles each way by the end of the year, stretchable to 3 in a "going not quite directly to work" kind of way.

However, the new route will be much more off-road (bridleways and tracks) than the current one, and what road work there will be is small lanes. And I will have the option to do a few laps of various orchards / hop fields on the way to make it a bit longer. So I'm quite pleased, all in all.

If I get the job I've applied for, then my new commute will be 3 miles.

Too long to cycle in normal clothes (for me) and too short for an actual proper cycle ride. Too far to walk (well too long in time terms in the morning rather than too far).

Yet I'll feel a berk driving it.

Bit of a dilemma really.

My commute is 5 miles each way. Toying with the idea of a different route that would add another 3 miles and avoid the carpark of aggression which is the A57 queueing to get on the M67. The only issue issue is 2 miles of that is a climb.

Mmm dunno about getting a longer one myself (phanr phanr)...

Depending on my starting point it can either be:-

17.5 miles each way
23 miles each way
Or like this mornings 31 miles each way

Thing is I wonder if it is possible to do a 62 mile commute everyday?

Yeah but im sure you have a long commute anyway.

I do almost ten and sometimes I wish it was shorter. It used to be till 1994 when it was extended by three miles.

It's horrible when your family move house during the day without telling you.B)
