Oh, the hair. I think he was trying to emulate James Dean and the whole loner, angry youth in rebellion sort of worldview.
Good movie, nice look at the Raleigh Plant here and there. I only saw it at Uni in cinema class, and on the late show when it made it over to the Tv station about a week later. I was still a newborn when that movie came out.

Such an aerodynamic adornment was common BITD in order to maximise the performance potential of the gas pipe and granite framed Raleigh Roadsters. With that hairdo the chap was clearly a high level racer in his time, a chap to be reckoned with

I didn't watch again this time, it's so riddled with lies, half truths and spin that it's too annoying to watch. I caught a Deusy though, in the few minutes I watched it; that the Raleigh Activator was a 'mountain bike'!!
