On my current bike that i've had for over five years now, the front disc brake has never been very power full,

Was out in the garage staring at the disc, and noticed only about 5mm the edge was shiney/wearing,

i've only reclently found out that you get different mounts for different bikes,

So decided to have a fettle.. worked out the shop i brought it from had put the mounting bracket on upside down!

Went for a ride round the block and nearly threw myself over the handle bars >.<

I checked the disc when i got back and the pads are now biteing more of the disc

Happy days

Oh yes, knew it wasn't right, but the back brake was always good enough to stop me,
I never fettled with the bike at home, and only rememberd the brake was s#!t when i was out riding it.
Once home, kids and life got in the way.
I tried adjusting the cable and piston a few times with no improvment.
Like i said, its only recently that found out about the different mounts so decided to complety pull it from the bike and start again.
I am learning more and more about bikes and how they work and about how to adjust things properly.
I'm happy that iv'e finaly fixed it
