Before taking to the course, it is essential to wear safety equipment such as a helmet, cycling gloves and elbow and knee pads. If you are riding on public roads, it is important to wear high visibility gear.

Edit -FFS, cycling is NOT dangerous

Edit 2 - Does the w*nker that wrote that sh*t even ride a bike?

Here for rides.
I wear a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards everytime I go out on my longboard.

Different helmet, knee and elbow pads on the mtb, but most often just a helmet,

Sometimes wear a different helmet (not my mtb helmet) on the road sometimes don't wear any helmet at all. According to preference.

That's pretty much how we should roll, I reckon.

My neighbour at work is an antique restorer. He always wears gloves on his bike. "You put your hands down on the tarmac when you come off. It means you can't work for ten days." Sound advice. I ought to wear glasses too. I once rode through a swarm of small, strange flies in an underpass. The resultant acid-laced mush ended up in the back of my eye sockets. It stung like hell for hours.
I read that as "a swarm of small, strange flies in underpants."
Think it must be bedtime!

I don't even wear chest/back protectors for motorcycling, i'm not wearing one for riding a bicycle at a 1/3 of the speed!
