Although check via google maps before you set off if you get chance - been caught out a couple of times with crossing railway lines and bridal paths.

Agree-same with most of the websites to be honest. Stick the little google man over the route and have a look.

+1 here too. One HUGE benefit - being able to look at the google mapping AND the OS map (the proper map!).

This is (for me) the key to simple planning as it takes a lot of the legwork out by identifying options.

Use this first and then use these routes on BikeHike, BikeRouteToaster or similar

Yes thats true, but i find the os map isnt always there and the "map detail cannot be shown at the moment" message is there so it doesnt work.

Probably bad habit on my part, but ive got so used to just unchecking the box its automatic with me now.
