How are you finding it?
Haven't used it in anger on the bike but as a running watch? Brilliant. As an HRM for gym sessions? Brilliant. No need for a footpod on hotel dreadmills. Finds satelites really fast when I move country. Great for intervals. Great for workouts built on Garmin Connect. Synchs first time everytime within three or four seconds on usb. Bluetooth smart watch functionaily useful when out on a run. (Until I came to my senses and thought 'chuff they can wait for an hour and I don't need to know they are waiting'.) Velcro strap great for wearing outside layers - minus thirteen outdoors means lots of layers - on a run.

The only flaw, common to all modern Garmin watches is I cant read the alerts without my glasses on. But you learn to recognise the alert by its shape/outline.

Garmin 920XT, perfect!
Change the strap to one of these and you can even mount it on your bike when not running.

In saying that the 910XT I had before was good enough, just not as fancy :okay:

It's so damn ugly though! lol

I have one going cheap if anyone is interested...

Can I ask why you're selling, its on my shortlist at the moment!

Well I've now changed my mind from the tomtom to the Microsoft Band 2

Ooh why, I liked the TomTom one as well! Not heard of the microsoft one, will look them up next, how is it better than the tom-tom?

Just replaced (it's now my backup), my Polar RC3 with a Garmin fenix 3 saphire, while I liked the Polar I like the Garmin more...

the fenix is lovely but I don't think I can justify the money for the amount of use it would get, I have a couple of nice 'normal' watches that I wear so I will only be wearing it for sport, seems a waste - or I'd end up wearing it all the while and the others would gather dust!

I have a Garmin forerunner 610. It has cycle and running mode and a cadence bike sensor and a handle bar mount. it works well for both

thanks will look that one up as well!

I've used a Garmin FR60, FR310XT and Suunto Ambit 3S for Running, Cycling (and Swimming) ....

Which would you recommend? I'd never heard of Suunto until today looking on wiggle. I was looking at Garmin as its a brand name I know, but similarly I don't want to pay extra just for the name if that makes sense!

I'm now wondering if an apple watch with strava app would do it? is there a strava app for apple watch? I think I need someone to just decide for me!

I use a Garmin Forerunner 110 for both running and cycling, I like it, and the best thing is it's the size of a normal watch, it doesn't have real time speed displayed, but the pace mode is good enough for me, it works with a HRM strap.

Looking at what's currently available today, I'd probably either go with an Ambit 2s (£150 from Wiggle) or a 910XT (£170 from Handtec) assuming I wanted to follow routes created on the web app (something I do a lot). If I wasn't bothered about route planning I'd go with the Garmin Vivoactive, which I don't _think_ can do route following.

Interesting, I was leaning towards the forerunner 235 as has integrated HRM at wrist and cycle/swim/run modes - plus I am a little taken in by garmin being the market leaders in this etc

vivoactive looks more like a mock apple watch to me, do you know if you can plan routes for the forerunner as I do this a lot with the bike garmo, would be nice to do it for running as well!

Garmin Forerunner 10 does enough for me - I imagine this is the least fancy suggested but start/stop recall history. Uploads to a Garmin app via laptop and I have it so it goes straight to Strava too! It was the best I could afford (£80ish) especially for someone who goes through phases of running/cycling :-)
