Does CycleChat have too many non-cycling related threads?

I have the feeling that CC is moving in the wrong direction. I would like to see all non-cycling sections removed EXCEPT for the cafe.

Won't all these non-cycling threads just end up in the cafe, then?

I agree wholeheartedly, we should get rid of anything non-cycling related, and stick instead to incredibly serious and detailed conversations about cycling and bikes! Humour must not be permitted ... no indeed! And the forums should be policed by these guys:

2)yes. Extra points for costumed dogs.

Costumed dogs on bikes please. Let's keep it cycle related.

To the OP, there are only 3 non cycle sections, Cafe, Computers and Politics. The rest is very much cycle related and I think the balance is about right.

Yeah, this type of thread takes up far too much space.

I think we should ban any cycle related content. Lets face it it distracts from the important conversations here about life, the universe and everything and attracts trolls. We'd be far better off without any of it and renaming it just Chat.

I suppose (to be serious for a moment) it really depends on what you're looking for from the site. I have learned SO MUCH about cycling/bike maintenance etc from this site, and it's my interest in cycling that keeps me coming here. However, I also enjoy having a laugh, and I find enough humour on here (either cycling or non-cycling related) to keep my aching brain amused. I've also had valuable advice on computers, central heating, car engines, all sorts of stuff. It's great!

...and I've met some really nice people on forum-related bike rides too.
