My health has improved to the point i can now walk a couple of miles which makes a holiday more of a possibility.
I have briefly looked at holidays for older people but the prices seem astronomical.
Anyone had experience or looked into it ?
My wife and I have been on a few Lochs and Glens holidays. There have often been single travellers on those, no problem, They don`t usually charge extra for a single room. I would not hesitate in going again. Their hotels are good.
)Thanks, I will have a look at that.
I was thinking more of somewhere in the sun (while I still can)
Where are you thinking of going?
lots of companies that offer tours, although not specifically marketed at solo travellers will have lots of single travellers eg Intrepid and a wide range of ages. They’re variable as far as single supplements go, cost depends on destination.
Activity holidays like birdwatching will also include solo travellers. I’ve been looking at this one for a few years and have chatted to the chap who runs it several times at shows.

Also consider insurance costs if leaving Europe.
My father went on a week's holiday last year as a single person and he's going again this year; with his it's one of the coach travel companies that pick you up and have day trips out to various places.
Cruises can be very single compatible as my wife would go to things on her own on the ship and you can eat drink on your own as many couples do this

Been on a few cruises with wife but they have a lot of singles on them and have events for the singles and the trips you can opt to go on always have mamy singles on them
