talking to a friend of mine today had to retell this story makes you wonder why some people buy bikes, he was sitting in traffic waiting for a bus to move when a lycra clad blur whizzed past him on the right hand side, he remebered thinking hes going to hurt himself. After going through the lights he carries in down the road seeing the furious cyclist jumping up and down on the pavement, on a very nice looking cannondale road bike.Pulling in just further down he walks back to see if he can help, the furious cyclist is screaming and jumping up and down on his front wheel, after asking if he needs help the cyclist starts screaming a torrent of abuse at him shouting car drivers should all be killed.
my friend gets back in his car and drives off(after showing his displeasure with his favorite gesture) When talking to me earlier he says the lunatic passed him on right hand side overtaking bus at at least 20 odd miles an hour without any care, and swears he will never stop to help a cyclist again. just occurs to me if people see this as general cyclists behaviour no wonder car drivers are biased towards cyclists.

Don't really understand what the cyclist has done wrong.
You say Lycra clad and whizz ing past at about 20mph....again, I don't see a problem.
Has the cyclist broken any laws or put anyone in danger?

The cyclist was seen by a driver passing them on the offside. Seems the cyclist was positioned very well, as he was spotted by drivers in the queue! I filter on the offside myself.

Being abusive to somebody offering help isn't ideal, but depending on what happened, them being angry I can understand; in fact did they even know your friend was a motorist if they had walked back to offer assistance.

The mental image of the cyclist jumping on his own front wheel reminded me of this:

i shall let this sit in my mind, as there's too much missing to form any other opinion ^_^

Did you know that Lycra is Arcyl backwards? Arcryl was the wife of the Marlboro Man and if you have yet to decipher the message on a Marlboro packet you are behind the times.
In case you missed the ITV documentary: as any aficionado will tell you, smoking Marlboro's will turn you into a KKK supporter (Marlboro Lights less so) and so when you marry this tendency to tight clothing that restricts the flow of blood around the groin you get 'Lycra Clad' syndrome that leads to the kind of behaviour we are considering here.
So far there is no antidote other than a Brooks saddle but then Brooks is Skoorb backwards so you can never be sure.

Regarding the "high speed filtering" that worried this driver - does he get stressed everytime a motorbike filters at even greater speeds?
