I am effing sick of it.

There are at least 5 peeps in the street who don't pick up after their dog. They don't even seem to be ashamed of it.

We always do, although it's been hard sometimes as she has had a bad stomach. Yesterday for example - I got the shoot over my hands for the first time. Urrrgghh.

A lady came out of her house tonight - pissing down - Ellie was crapping, and called me over. I went over after picking it up and asked her what the problem was. Bless her, she thanked me and said I am the only one who does it.

She wouldn't go out and approach someone who doesn't do it. Her admission.

Pisses me off.

I never pick up when I'm walking the dog - in fact I don't answer the 'phone much at all...

(Always do, and always tie a bag around the dog lead handle)

lol, like it. Why do you tie a bag around the lead - is it a sign for something?

The bit I don't get is why when you've gone to the effort of bagging the steaming article, do you then hang it over a fence post or on a branch a face height to demonstrate to all that pass that you are a good dog owner.

I have no idea. I either take it to the council waste bin for dogs (in the local park) or take it home.

Dropping it like that is nothing to do with being a good owner at all.

Snapper, have you complained to your local council? Have you asked them to get wardens to patrol your neck of the woods? Have you tried any form of (direct) action?

What's the point?

We meet about 4 other dogs or sets of dogs (you know the one's who have 3 - 4 on a lead) every day.

None of them pick up and it's as though it's ok because they are 'small'.

It seems to me all these peeps who have a westie/yorkie/smashed nose (don't know what they are called) dogs think it's ok to do a shoot whenever they fancy. They don't even look guilty when the dog is crapping. But when it is a 'bigger' dog, all hell is let loose on them.

a looong time ago I lived in a small village in which dog-owners just didn't care. Footpaths, grass verges, the lot. Some wag took photographs of the dogs dropping their loads and posted them around town. It improved matters no end.

So...'Snapper'....

Like a kind of wanted poster....hmmmmm.

I don't know if it's good or bad but mine has started disappearing into the darkest thickets. It's like he's shy or something. I don't mind heading in after him, I keep thinking of some kid making a den but you don't half get wet when it's been raining. I also have to admit, that sometimes I can't get to them

Yes, Petra used to go into thicket over the park and it was a right pain in the arse to get to the tom-tits ;) so I know what you mean.

Dell - I think you have a good plan there.
