Obviously an Aubergine
I hit the road at 53. It's now twelve years through 75 countries so far for me 😊

Stopped working at 52. Sold, or disposed of, everything except the essentials, i.e. bike and kit. Use a friend's address for correspondence.
No family responsibilities to worry about.
NFA means everywhere is home.

Sounds great.

Except I wouldn't mind a home base to come back to now and again, as well..

Going to try to work out how to have both..
How's that for greedy.?

But you also remind me that it does seem perfectly possible to use someone else's place as a 'fixed address'

Got quite a few friends who live in vans and buses who use this place as an occasional park up, and as an address for mail.

Retirement, little tours up to 2/3 months and no need to go during peak/expensive season. Autumn winter spring southern Europe, just find out the peak times like the spring / early summer break for Europeans. All depends how brave you are, letting go of house and possessions. It's nice to have a base you can return to.
