If money is involved for anything more than expenses then you are not donating but selling surely? There is nothing altruistic about it. Not a situation I would want to encourage for organs at least but think it might work well for egg/sperm donation in increasing the very low rates.

Of course, whether we really need increased donation and therefore conception rates in an overcrowded world is another story....

It is another story and perfectly valid but try telling it to a couple with infertility issues. Our, one and only, daughter is 6 yrs old now. We had two cycles of IVF. The second using donated eggs. All privately funded. We had to wait 3 yrs for the donated eggs. Very emotional journey.

I hear you can donate part of your liver as it'll regenerate itself. Quite who would want my liver which has been terrorised by real ale for several years is anyone's guess though!

I think that post got his ears burning! He rang me last night to see how I am getting on with my health problems and after updating him with my news, I asked how he was. He was quite chirpy because he had been told that the average life of a donated kidney from a close relative is just 12 years (yikes!) but recent tests have shown that his is still going strong after 11 years and is expected to last another 5+ years.
I know Hammond rode for Sky and Disco but was Bontempi at Liquigas?
