Started cycling end of last summer with a group of local lads (aged 40-60), and have been really enjoying it.

We've entered a couple of sportives this year (100 mile version), so I wanted to see what it felt like to do 100miles. I now know it's very difficult, especially if you are on your own, and the 1st 50 mile have 5500ft of climbing!!

I am knackered, gonna have a large glass of wine and go to bed.

For anyone interested, details of ride:

Well done! I did my first one last year, got a bit tiring at about the 70 mile point and was glad when I rolled home.

Well done indeed! It's a great feeling to know you've achieved your first Century ride.

:okay:

edit: looking at the Strava profile, the initial 50 miles were pretty hilly!

Good riding there Robert. Looks like you had some challenging climbs in the first 50.

Well done on achieving your first 100 and enjoy your glass of wine.

Well done! :bravo:

A century at this time of year isn't easy. You did a very respectable time (translation: none of my centuries have been that quick yet ) and you'll find it easier once the warmer weather comes round.:okay:

Very impressive and well done.
I've been riding since about October and I'm 53 and I'm pretty sure I couldn't do 100 miles without getting help from public transport !
