Romantic meals have ended badly when I've cooked using chillis. We'll leave it at that shall we?

This!!

Chillies (and warming embrocation) = Latex gloves.

This is the solution....

Too Many Chillis?

We usually ... ... get our chillis from the supermarket, and each one is different from the last one. It so happens, the batch we have in at the moment is particularly fiery. Mrs P made some sweet/sour/chilli sauce to go with the nutloaf, she swears she only put two chillis in, it was - er - robust. In this warm humid weather it set the sweat pouring off me, and I'm (*smirk*) - hardened. Mrs P doesn't enjoy the experience so much, she could only manage a spoonful.

Note: the strength usually depends on the number of chillies added, regardless of size. You can't reduce the potency by picking small chillis out from the bag.

I always taste the sauce before it comes to the table, but too late! I wonder if there's any way of reducing the scovilles after the sauce is made?* Adding an extra spoonful of powder is easy-peasy...
