i bought a new frame, a Tifosi CK7 audax for winter use, but im stuck..........

what headset do i need to buy so that it will fit properly!!??

intergrated? external?

please help!

thanks

If the frame hasn't a headset fitted to it then it's a LBS job as you need specialist tools and experience to do the job properly.

Chicken Cycles have Tifosi headsets for the CK3/7 here (2nd item down). They are 'Campag fit' with 45/45 degree bearings so any 45/45 integrated headset would be fine.

A bike which requires a standard headset will usually have a headtube that is just a tube, whereas a bike frame needing an integrated will have machined cups in each end of the head tube. But then there are different types of integrated headsets, so that gets even more complicated. I only know my Ribbles need a 45/45 headset because that is what they cam fitted with and the top cap says so.

Too true.

John The Monkey (a forum member from Crewe) recommends Sideways Cycles in Alsager - may be worth a try if you are reasonably local to them.

Or Longstaffs in Newcastle are pretty good.
