....it's just me banging my head against the wall trying to find enough staff to do all the work we're being asked to do:wacko:

On top of that, Bikes4All, the other Leicester cycling project, has just about gone tits up. Well, they've only benn given £750,000 to run projects but I guess that wasn't quite enough:angry:

And now the city council are being very nice to us for a change:angry:

Christ, and there's me taking your time up with silly phone calls. Sorry about that.

Hilldodger ... what is it you actually do? Seen you mention your work a fair few times but never understood what it is you do

So, though things are pressured at the moment, the long-term outlook for your organisation may actually have improved as a result? 'It's an ill wind...' and all that!

Was there not enough cycling activity to sustain two cycling concerns within the city? What activities did they do that your organisation doesn't?

Cycling tryout roadshows, cycling history roadshows, special needs cycling, bike recycling, repairs, sales of specialist bikes, hire of specialist machines, event management, media/pr work, consultancy for councils, cycling history research, penny farthing rider for hire, cycle training etc, etc.

Is that what they did that you don't already cover? If so, it's a heck of a list!

Groundworks (under which B4A comes) is a grant spending organistion. Sadly, the Leicester one was very badly run and many people have left/been made redundant.

Thankfully, the CEO has finally been forced to go after it was found that there's a huge black hole in the finances.

(I figured it was just an overlapping reply - s'what happens when a thread gets busy!).

It's an impressive list, Rog. Given how busy you are already, I suppose it's a question now of not just whether you have the capacity to take up any extra work going as a result of the demise of the 'other lot', but whether you want to. Reading between the lines, I hope those picking up the pieces treat you nicely in future.

Hopefully the council will see fit to give US some funding to run projects for them as they did with Groundworks.

We're totally self financing and have been going for 10 years, so their money is safe with us and we'll deliver the projects.

We'll see.
