So I order Mrs W Christmas present from Argos and I get a message to say it will be delivered by Yodel and I need to be there to accept it.
I get a message today to say it will delivered between 12:47 and 14:47 at 1400 the tracking shows the van 10 miles away with 17 more drops to do. At 1405 I see a van outside and as I go to open the door a slip is being shoved through the letter box. I open the door and ask what’s going on. I’m informed by the guy whose posted the slip that he’s posted my parcel through next doors letter box. I enquire why as I’m supposed to accept the parcel at this point the drink tells me he told the guy delivering to do it.
I’m somewhat incredulous at this pointing that is against Yodels own rules and mention next door is an empty house having recently been sold so there is no way I can round and ask for my package.
The driver gives me his details and he will contact the estate agent and ask them to get someone to retrieve it and deliver it. He rings after 10 minutes to say the estate agent has agreed to this and will ring me tomorrow to check I have got it.
At 14:25 its put through my letter box. So I did get it with the time frame.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I don't know, but I doubt they do. Though the courier might offer such a service.🤔

I'm probably going to buy the perfume from Boots as although I'll 'lose' £12.50, I won't have the anguish of fearing it being lost in transit or nicked off my doorstop as I would if I bought it for less online. Plus with such as Boots you're almost certain it won't be a fake, which is possible with never heard of before online sellers. Plus I have a £25 gift voucher from answering O.N.S statistical questions, so that'll 'cushion the blow' of 'losing' £12.50 😉

I went to Blackburn Boots last night and might as well have not bothered! The perfume they advertised wasn't in stock, so I asked about another one that would do, only to be told that one's out of stock as well! I'm off to Clitheroe later today. I saw the first choice one in their Boots shop last week, so hopefully they'll still have it!

The Scousers were doing that back in the 1980s and 1990s, but not a transit van load, instead it was an Articulated Lorry load at a time

Only because some other scally had knicked the wheels of all the Transits!

Well that's interesting, innit. I just got an email saying my Amazon parcel had been delivered, complete with a photo of it on the doorstep, but I hadn't heard anyone knock on the door. So I went and checked, and it wasn't there.......then when I looked up, the driver was walking back to the van with it.

"Is this yours?"
"Yes"
"Er, I can't deliver it, because it's not showing on the computer"

Then after he'd stood and faffed with his phone for a while, he decided it was there after all......

A few days ago I took a different route than normal - ended up in a new build estate in Warrington

as I was wandering around wondering how to get out of it I came across a parcel in the middle fo the road

it looked like it had just been dumped on a doorstep
and there was a gale force wind (I got home pretty quickly!!!)

I looked at the address and it was about 4 doors up - I stuffed it behind a milk thingy
but the Amazon person had not though of that

I noticed this morning that the Amazon page says it was left in a secure location, no mention of it being photographed on the doorstep in full view of the road. I doubt there's much point in complaining, I'll not get past a chatbot full of platitudes.
