Seen worse, much worse but some fairly significant rain and thunderclaps here In Peterborough. I think (barring the few short showers we had about a week ago) thats the first significant rain since June 21st (i mentioned it in another post back then)
And thinking back prior to that...there had been precious little rain anyway.

I couldn't see Blackstone Edge whilst brushing my teeth this morning which is a bad omen. Granted, almost 100% of the worlds population couldn’t either but my en suite directly faces it.

And I pity the fools at Reading/Leeds this weekend.

Funnily enough, the kids wanted to go shops despite pretty heavy rain ongoing. Got their stuff, paddling through flooded puddles etc..many shops are suffering with water ingress (theres been a long history of it in our local shopping centre)...so on way back i said let's get some breakfast at the cafe while it all subsides.
Heavy toll on the shops, chippy, vape shop, beauty parlour, cafe (one of three) , barbers, phone accessory shop and sports bar all sweeping water out.
Co op shut while they furiously try to push back the water, even the shop with a cafe we went into was struggling in parts.
They only just re roofed the entire block after years of complaints from the shops...and then this happens !!!

Looking like most of the Bank Hol weekend in Hampshire is going to be playing the rain lottery, but then the weather always knows when it's a Bank Hol weekend.

heavy rain here at times - but no thunder - even from Creamfields (probably too far away and they won;t be playing MotorHead!!)

no rain for a few hours now and no sign of Thunder all day
