We've had a heavy, but short lived shower. That short. but nevertheless measurable, 0.5mm of precipitation means the drought is technically over, although the water scarcity continues.
A shower of rain made the headlines in the local Peterborough rag...apparently the first in gawd knows how long but...they were obviously asleep when it showered for 5 minutes about a week ago...so put that in you pipe local papers !
