This was in a rough area. But yes, it definitely does happen. I have heard of similar incidents near me. Hence I don't like bike paths.
I'm not really on bike paths anymore but I know what I'll be thinking about the next time I am.

Tannus tyres are brilliant, but they don't help with wires strung across the cycle path

I read about a mountain biker that got hit by a barbed wire trap, luckily he got hit across the shoulders (may have been one of the above?).

They've been hinding boards full of long nails in deep puddles as well, bad enough riding through them but could be lethal of you landed head first in one..

Legitimate 4x4 drivers on green lanes are being targeted of late by the old nails through the board trick. That's not very clever, as if the 4x4 lot catch them they'd quite likely end up in an unmarked grave!

I thought that was an urban myth. Surely something was done about it?

One round here only a couple of weeks ago. It made the press but no one will ever get prosecuted as there is little chance of getting caught.

The easter school holidays saw a big rise in the amount of glass on the lancaster-morecambe cyclepath.

These idle dickheads think they're causing a hilarious puncturefest but modern tyres are better than they think.... all they're doing is making life hard for their mate's status dog.
