Did your old schoolmate tempt you into a visit to Southport, home of the British Lawnmower Museum?

Come on, admit it, you know you want to visit!!
I could have done with you this evening, off I go for a nice pint of Tag Lag( Barngates,if you don't know it)and guess who should I find roadtesting Black Iris Intergalactic something or other,(sounded like an early "Yes" album to me)but our hero. Its 9% and on his second pint he had morphed into an expert on everything from A toZ.I feared I might be treated to a lengthy description of the National Toothbrush Museum or some such, but thankfully I was ignored in favour of a new member of the bar staff.Naturally.I left a pint in for Einstein, just to help things along as it were, but I have a nasty feeling that I may well be barred next time I go for a pint^_^

Time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted
Then again, you could always nip down to Keswick and enjoy a trip to the National Pencil Museum......might be a bit more bearable than another chat with your old school pal.

I've been in many a pub bar or restaurant on me tod when travelling be with work. It's infinitely preferable to sitting in a hotel room with a room service burger. Plus you normally strike up conversation with someone if you pick the right place. That's part of the bar staffs job isn't it?

True.Good idea in fact, the cop shop is now a Wetherspoons and that must mean that there are beers other than Jennings available in Keswick(never cared for Jennings) that and the fact that the "Words by the Water" festival is imminent make a visit a must.

Funnily enough, the best pint of Jennings I ever had was in a pub in Nottingham(on the main square, pub opposite a Yates Wine Lodge, old pub Had an entrance which led into a side bar and a large bar at the back, near a lane which led up to The Trip-help me out Notts folk!)Cragrat and yes Snecklifter,I ll give you those!
