Drive train question?

Hi,

I hope someone could help. I'm pretty new to road cycling, and definitely new to maintenance.

I've tried cleaning my bike up a little and part way through I noticed this piece around the drivetrain come loose. What do I do?

Any help appreciated.

Shift down into the small ring - you'll notice that the top part of the derailleur becomes flat again. That bit of plastic clips on the top.

Edit: It's Shimano's new style front derailleur - they're a bit odd until you figure them out but on balance I think they are an improvement.
