Sorry Mr Linford I'm going to have to put your horse down.

Oh no, is it that bad?

No, it's just very heavy.

They'd never fit through the front door SMeggers. Fortunately the Vet is sited in Chelt Racecourse car park, and has a bespoke and well equiped Equine facility around the back of the building.

BMW - 363 Days a Year a dream to drive. 1 Day a year comedically bad.

4x4 - 363 Days a year comedically bad. 1 Day a year mildly useful.

Who shouts loudest?
So does that make this comedically bad all year round?

I see you've sensibly allowed 2 full days this year for garage repairs when it breaks down.

No, it’s much worse than that. Ironically for a 4x4 enthusiast I loathe and detest the majority of 4x4's. Not that there is anything intrinsically wrong with the vehicles but the fact that they are nice shiny status symbols, purchased for no other reason than to look wealthy/fashionable or because they are perceived as 'safe' (for whom?).

IMO if someone wants/needs a comfy, large car then what is wrong with a big saloon or estate car? If traction is a problem then plenty of these are available with 4wd without having to drive around in a top heavy, overweight, off-road capable (I use this term loosely in relation to the X5!) vehicle.

+1

They're also used as a means of aggression by one handed drivers. By the way, what are they doing with the other hand? Or am I too young to know?

I commend your restraint on only posting a photo of a brownish X5. There's a white X6 round these parts...

Easy, I know! I can't get a big, reliable, sub 100k, FSH, fault free, rock solid, 4WD estate for £750. I can however have a choice of 4l Jeep Cherokee's because not many can afford the dismal 15-20 mpg, they are unwanted. Again, the Jeep is smaller than the Mondeo estate it replaced, will still be worth £750 next year, and the year after, and £750 is a figure smaller than I'd have lost in residual value if I'd kept the Mondeo another year! When, if, this one ever goes "pop" then I'll buy another because it makes economical sense for me to do so.

It is hardly a shiny status symbol. ^_^ For the record, one thing you notice straight when you sit in or drive one is the superb visibility, thin (1970's) designed pillars make blind spots minimal. Modern cars should all be like this!
