No, you've lost me. Sorry.I have other things to do with my time.
Yip, I was living in Dublin when they brought the MOT equivalent in, the NCT and I can remember folk saying that. That was only in the early 0'tiesIntroduced as the NCT, administered/run by a private company.
New cars were failed.
Who said anything about speed ? The OP states "enjoy the pleasure of driving a very expensive car". Nothing about breaking speed limits.I'm happy with my more modest steed. I could spend a hundred grand and the speed limit would be the same.
I enjoy the pleasure of driving a cheap car. I'm going just as fast, probably cornering quicker because I've been trained to drive properly, and have immense smug satisfaction that I'm a hundred grand richer for it
the sort that says 'well-off and retired'
Seriously. Do you really think Ricky Gervais, Charlie Watts and Robby Williams need a swish car so we will know they are successful? If you've got it, flaunt it.
Yup that's why I like the Volvo. 8 years old engine just about run in . Love the twisty roads in N Wales. Fun watching the plums in Clios dabbing brakes all time when I can use gears and anticipation of the Road .
Please no, we've got more than enough smelly cars here already. To drive me in comfort around the gloriously flowing roads of the Highlands. .
I use the brakes gratuitously when driving in Essex (specifically, on the A12) because it's the only way to get the dozy twat following me to notice that my car is slowing down.Oh aye, idiots who comfort brake really annoy me.
Mind you, since I retired everything annoys me!![]()
