I knew what you meant but thought you might be able to use an adjustable in a different way. Even two screwdrivers, one as a shim, the other the lever, might do it. I filed a rear dropout recently on a new build, had real difficulty pushing the axle into the dropout prior but it only took a tiny amount of filing to sort it.Suppose filing wouldn't be too much of a bad solution. It'd be difficult with the adjustable spanner to do, suppose it was my explanaion of damage that wasn't clear.
If the forks were sitting straight, the front of the area where the spindle (threaded bit) sits in the end of the forks is bent towards the back thus making the opening smaller. I feel like I am explaining it badly lol.
