I was given a Terry Dolan road bike frame and I am currently building her up, I have almost completed the build but I am a little stuck on the seat post of all things!

I have a spare 27.2 post laying around so I tried that as the top of the seat tube was measured at 27.2, now the post goes in for about 3" or so until it goes down to about the rear stays and then it stops solid. I assumed that it would be a 27.2 as it slots in snugly up until it gets to the stays so is it possible that it could be a 27.0 instead of a 27.2 and the top part is a little wider?

I am a little confuzzled

Have a feel inside the tube for a burr which is catching the post. In the case of a carbon frame it might be a little blob of lacquer.

It is a 27.2

I took a look into the down tube and could not see anything obstructing the seat post so I lubed mine up again and carefully pushed it down again. It took a little oomph but it did go in.

All sorted now, thanks for your help
