I'm a jewess, you have no idea how annoying/insulting it is to hear a white Christian woman calling herself "ethnic" and thinking she speaks on any woman's behalf other than her own. I got no problem with white Christian women, other than my mother they are the only women I know.

I struggle with those forms that ask for my ethnic origin. I've asked several times, and nobody will say how far back they want me to go. As a consequence, I follow science that says we're all out of Africa and put black African. It does raise funny looks.

I was referring to her use of the word "ethnic", I bet "some of my best friends are black" as well. I hope she would be as insulted by me calling her a cow just as much as I am insulted by her spouting the same lines male Muslim extremists use to keep their wives and daughters in servitude.

There is a huge difference between someone not using PC language on the internet and what she has done which is the real issue and by the way, why is a woman using the word cow wrong when on this forum people are using twat and nobber as insults and no one ever has a go at them for it. Calling someone a vagina or a penis as if both of these things are bad is far more "offensive" no?

Getting hung up on this sort of inane detail to score internet points is where the feminist movement is failing. Meanwhile there are women living in this country who will be beaten or killed for running away from arranged marriages.

Cool. There'd be less need for councillors then. One of the few things the Americans get right is local services, where the heads of seperate departments are elected, like Police, Sanitation, Highways etc, then the individual losers can be weeded out while those that do well can be left alone without recourse to party politics.

Don't think I support that at all - the "political" decision is to get the balance between different services, and prioritisation within a service, rather than mere execution of said service. Thus politicians should decide, on our behalf, how much we need to spend / can afford to spend / should be taxed for - say health services, versus roads, versus national security, versus other good things like theatre or science. They are then responsible for appointing suitable managers to run them properly - whether that be a highways manager or an Admiral. Few would see elected Admirals as "a good thing", so why see elected police chiefs as sensible?
