Thinking about staying in the above area possibly Gatehouse of Fleet, checked out some rides in the area round about the 40/50 miles circular, can any member recommend any rides, thanks

I stayed in Kirkcudbright a couple years ago. IIRC we did a loop out towards Sweetheart Abbey along the coast and back along NCN 7 on one day, and the North out Towards Gatehouse of Fleet and into the foothills on the second.

Lots of good places to ride round there. There's also an option to do an off-road (gravelly Sustrans rather than full singletrack), on road loop out to Glentrool if that takes your fancy, by following the two options for the Lochs & Glens South Cycle route.

+1 for ncn7 and Glentrool area. Galloway forest is blimmin lush too.

One day you could cycle over to Stranraer, roll on the ferry and cycle round Ireland. Happy days.

Lovely circular routes on the Machars peninsula Newton Stewart via Wigtown to the Isle of Whithorn, aiming for lunch at the Steam Packet and back upthe middle?

could always head around the coast to Alloway and visit the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. lovely area for cycling with lots of good spots for lunch/food break.

Wherever you go, I would hope that you would be partaking in a spot of Haggis :hungry:
