Dura ace 7800 question ?

not sure if i am in the correct section for this ?

I have a rear 7803 triple rear mech with a heli coil in the cable holder it works ok but now and then it works free and i need to replace.
Will a 7800 do the same job if i replace.?

Reading a few forums postings there isn't much difference

Is the 7800 rear mech only available as a short cage? If it is I think you will struggle to get it to work on a triple.

There is no cage on the one I am looking at 7800 but maybe I could swap the cage off my 7803 so I have one that works, what do you think./

It should not be a problem. I have swapped long cages onto different mechs before.
