He knew you were there but you made at least two big mistakes:

1. you weren’t in the gutter

2. You haven’t paid any road tax

Of course he knew you were there dear, he just assumed that you were going to ride in a straight line over the top of the bus or sprout wings and fly. The fault is yours for making such such an unpredictable manoeuvre
