A toddler can't legally ride one in the UK, at least in public.

I know this is posted as a novelty item, not a recommendation but... having seen two grandchildren through balance and toddler bikes, I'd say a 16" self-propelled wheeled one is not typical balance bike sized but rather larger, as well as being completely unsuitable for a little kid who can't stay upright. They have enough trouble steering while balancing, and it takes quite a while even to think about the brake - never mind a throttle! Looks like a somewhat thin excuse for selling a kids electric motor bike.

One thing we learned was that balance bikes (and toddler bikes) need to be light, because the adult usually ends up carrying it when the toddler decides he/she would rather walk or be carried/pushchaired. Glub knows what that weighs. The Islabikes balance bike (for example) is stupidly expensive for what it is at £200 but they are fairly easy to buy (or sell) used at £100 so you can get all or most of your money back if you look after it. And it weighs under 4Kg.
