it's not the nicotine that does the damage with smoking it's the tar and all the other nasties.
in an ecig there is no tar and a hell of alot less damaging substances .

I'd also like to add that 219 ago I smoked conventional cigarettes and couldn't run for a bus without getting out of breath and gasping for air , yesterday I cycled 22 miles pretty easily so I'd say I've done something right or I'm at the very least heading In the right direction. . I stand by what I wrote in the op and I believe ecigs can work towards giving up smoking
219 years! Smoking certainly hasn't done you much harm.;)
I smoke and cycle and have recently got myself an ecig thingummy, mostly to put something different into a developing wake-and-roll routine. I don't see it as goodness, just minor amelioration. Less stuff in the lungs. But a smaller effect on the nicotine related problems.

That's the truth. If I had a pound for every time I've heard, "What do you mean you don't drink? What's wrong with you?"

I get that look when i say i don't drink , normally the first words are "Oh are you driving"

The wife has never had more than the odd glass of wine and went to a party the other week , she came home very drunk from shots, lay on the bed telling me how her face was numb and the room spinning , the next morning she said that the when she got home the previous night she thought she was having a stroke and why do people choose to feel like that hahaha

I have been on e cigs since 7th February last year, on that day I gave up my over 20 a day habit that lasted 28 years, I am not an ex or a non smoker, I am an e cig smoker, the difference being I now smell of vanilla essence instead of tobacco and I pay roughly £8 a day less tax.
It has also let me buy a bike, lose three and a half stone and cycle about 60 mile a week.
No doubt our great leaders will see how much tax they are loosing and start scaremongering about the health risks and then try and tax it

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Yes, in Wales.

What can I say ladies and gentlemen. I don't know that is a good thing or not. Time, will tell I suppose

I got off cigarettes using an E cig. I started using one a few years ago and immediately stopped using tobacco products. I do feel better than I did when I was smoking cigarettes. I haven't tried to give up the E cig yet. I don't want to take a chance on gaining weight. I smoked a pack to a pack and a half of cigarettes a day for about 30 years and gave them up immediately when I got the E cig. It also saves a lot of money and where I live cigarettes are pretty inexpensive compared to a lot of other places.

I don't know if they are better for your health than tobacco but I think they are and I feel better than I did when I used tobacco. However, I would never encourage young people to "vape". Just stay away from all forms of smoking. I would not use my E cig in public places where smoking is banned but it would be tough for me to stay very long in a bar or pub situation without it. But I very rarely go to bars and have not been in one since I started using my E cig.

Thread bump!

12 days on the E Cigs, but without a real fag. The longest I've not had a fag for many years.

Fingers crossed, but it seems to be going well* this time.

*Apart from the night sweats, the nose bleeds and generally feeling like shoot warmed up:rolleyes:
Never mind the Bensons, get the Champix, works a treat. ;)
