I consider myself TT these days as well. I don't not drink, but I couldn't tell you when I last had a drink, or in fact when I'm likely to have another.

Whenever I did get drunk I was always sick, no matter what I drank, too much of it and xx(

So in the end I though feck it, it's no fun anymore and basically packed it in.

Even if I just had a pint it would feel like a cold ratchet was being slowly tightened across my forehead, this was before getting to the bottom of the glass. It would still be there next day. Sad really as I quite liked a nice pint or two of decent ale, but not enough to feel awful!

Same here. I have no tolerance for alcohol and would be sick. Haven't had a drink for over 6 years. didnt like being sick, even though i didnt drink much

Thing is, as a bloke we are looked on as effeminate (sp) if we dont sink 6 pints of lager in 4 mins.

Doesn't bother me, but why getting so drunk you fall over a spew is good, beats me.

Sounds like you've done the right thing though

I'd really enjoy a single cold pint on a warm sunny day in a beer garden, but our lifestyle means I'm never in that position, hence it doesn't happen.

I was never one for drinking at home either, it just never tasted the same to me, even with widgets and other witchcraft it just never felt right, should be thankful I guess as I have seen what drink can do

That's the truth. If I had a pound for every time I've heard, "What do you mean you don't drink? What's wrong with you?"

Er, well actually I've got my own mind and I'm not afraid to make decisions that apparently threaten others masculinity, now feck off! (is of course what I've never said)

FWIW though I don't like football either, I'ma social pariah I am!

We need jerseys that say "Puritan velo".

I shudder to think of the money and time that I wasted, though saying that I did have lots of fun through the years.

I would drink at home. I have mentioned in this forum that in my last job that I was shafted. When I moved house and job I was drinking most evenings, only 1pint on a school night, but at the weekend there may be 4 bottles in the garage, so I'd drink 3 on the Friday. Come Saturday 1 bottle didn't make a worthwhile drink, so I'd get 3 more, then there would be one left for Sunday evening. Before I knew what had happened all the anger and bitterness was being propped up by a beery crutch of 10 bottles a week-£17 at Aldi prices. Luckily I have never been a wine or spirits person.

Thats why I think ecigs are superb for weening you off , I tried patches gums then lot now be worked , but I think k if I'd continued smoking an ecig like a conventional one I would have restarted

I don't smoke and am rather at a loss as to how an e cigarette can break you out of the habit of smoking.

A smoker has two things to break: the addiction to nicotine and the physical habit of actually smoking.
Now I can see that if you say took in the nicotine in a different way (patch or gum) that you break the physical habit first and then can wean off the nicotine addiction over time. Eases you out one thing at a time.
But with E cigarettes you are still taking in nicotine and still going through the motions of smoking. How then have you actually progressed?
Surely you need to do something to break one or both the habits.

Because I've slowly reduced the nicotine levels the same as a patch just the delivery system differs as for the motion as you put it I've reduced the amount of liquids I buy being a non smoker its probably difficult to think of an ecig being the same as a patch and maybe in your view I haven't given up smoking at all and that's fine but in my view I have made progress and I do feel that using an ecig has got me closer to being fully nicotine free more than any patch has ever done and I fully expect to have given up using any sort of nicotine replacement before this year is out.

I'd also like to add that 219 days ago I smoked conventional cigarettes and couldn't run for a bus without getting out of breath and gasping for air , yesterday I cycled 22 miles pretty easily so I'd say I've done something right or I'm at the very least heading In the right direction. . I stand by what I wrote in the op and I believe ecigs can work towards giving up smoking
