Never really fancied a recumbent but that e-tandem looks awesome.
What a great way to keep your wife actively involved in cycling. :okay:

Yes, same here. I did try a conventional tandem, but, communication was difficult, and, wife just wasn’t “engaged” so not really happy. With the Pino, we can talk, and, an unexpected bonus, people smile and talk to us. This pleases wife, since her Alzheimer’s has led to a degree of social isolation. So, win win

In the USA every "e-bike" legal or otherwise seems to be ridden by a fit youngish ( under 40) individual on the multi use path. No need for the thing, yanks are just lazy twats.
When I was in Japan, I saw mostly older people (60+), and they were usually pedalling the thing, and going as slow as you might expect a heavy bike to go. But, I discovered that when it got vertical, they used assist to get up the hill, smartly saving battery for when they needed it.
The Mama-Chari, with two kids and a small woman driving, the thing had to weigh 500 pounds, only makes sense that thing would want help.
If you could keep them on the road, "e-bikes" regardless of speed and style would be so super, and might even get a few tank-o-matic cars off of the road.
